I am still having PC problems

Since my PSU blew up on Thursday last week it damaged my OS on the SSD. I bought a new PSU and after a re-install of the OS I have been having issues with various pieces of hardware not installing and now my Graphics card seems to be rubber ducked as the display is corrupt with lines running across it. I will borrow the graphics card out of my sons pc and try and install it.

I just hope that my mobo is ok as it's an Intel i7 1366 socket Asus P6X58D-E which is now obsolite so it will mean a new board and processor( basically a new pc)

Oh Shit so it looks like I wont be playing for a while till I get it sorted.

if the psu blew it might have taken the mobo with it which maybe the problem with the graphics card..

i know this sounds dumb, but PLEASE just try this for me.
Take out yer GFX card, blow REALLY hard in the PCI slot, clean yer GFX contact strip, and plug and play again.

Sometimes it can just be simple solutions that ya dont always see. Worth a try, even if ya done it already, just try it again, only take ya 3 mins or so.

That's whats worrying me Bob as I have seen it so many times when customers brought in their Pc's for repair ( I used to work Part Time in PCWorld Clinic) that I know what can happen when a PSU goes.

I will try my sons graphics card tomorrow which should either confirm or prove me wrong (fingers crossed) but all the signs are that the graphics card has gone tits up that and bloody windoze 8.1 ( piece of shit) wont even let me install the driver for the graphics card.

I have already spent £110 on a new Psu.

If it is the Mobeo that 's gone what is the best way to go regards processor etc ( me wallet is complaining already).

A thought has just struck me that I have an old PC stuck in a cupboard somewhere that should be capable of running CSS just needs a hdd stuck in it and a hacked copy of winblows 7 pro or ultimate installed.
Will see what tomorrow brings

And emphasis on blowing teh pci slot hard lol when yer plugging and plugging there's a good chance ya get a hair on the Ffs contacts, happened to me before.

Have found a graphics card at the bottom of my pc bits drawer a PNY GT 260 ( dont Laugh) and the display is fine so it was the graphics card causing a lot of the problems.

Will need to have a look for a new graphics card now as PCWorld have a shit selection, anything you guys recommend as long as its not too expensive and what onlne site do you use

i did however track down and buy two brand new 1366 Asus p6t deluxe mob's
as i got 5 years from my last one with no hassle at all over the years
