I've been saving some pennies and Amazon vouchers and nearly have enough to splurge out on a nice new GTX460 (bit of a step up from my 6600!!). Thing is, it's been a while since I last bought a VGA so have you guys got any recommendations on manufacturer? I'm tempted by a couple (ASUS and Palit) but wanted some opinions across the board first (no ATI fan boys please lol).

:pint:

I bought a ASUS one last week (ENGTX460CU), good stuff but be sure your Mobo and power can handle it (have a look over internet), I changed my mobo to run PCIe 2.0 (PCIe 16x is enough but you'll waste some of the VGA capacity)
about power it needs 2 6 pins connectors and its recomended to have a 450W minimum system power (what is written on the box)
ask me if you need more details about it :)

Sweet. That's the card I was most tempted by Towelie. My PSU is 500W and mobo is PCIe 16x. I know what you're saying about wasting the capability because the PCIe x16 bus is slower but I can't afford new mobo, ram and psu yet!

Think I may have found my card http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-135-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1830

10 years warranty - can't say fairer than that!

i reacon £100 buys a half decent card by any manufacturer, (as long as ya shop at the right place) i aint arsed about make/model just as long as it aint obscenely LOUD like this Asus gts250 with the glaciator fan (that fan is the main culprit i think). upon purchasing my next card noise is gunna be my biggest factor to consider when buying it !. rest of my fans are reasonably quiet, NO NEED !! for such a fukkin din !!!
hope this helps lol, just don't go buying a card with a fukkin jet engine for a fan strapped to it :)
