Ello,

Tring to oc my sys a bit for the latest games; if it even would be worth it.
I know that the E6600 is a decent intel CPU for OC'ing, but seems that i have some other difficulties to get to a good speed with it.
Seen things on the net, (not from kiddieforums, but from reviews) that you shouldnt have a problem getting it to 2.8GHz.
I have an Abit IP35P mobo with 2*1024MB 800/CL4 DDR2 from OCZ

Seems like I got trouble with my RAM at first; at win startup gotten "page fault at nonpage area"-error
This should be an error when you go too far in a OC, but had it with a small one like FSB at 275

I use Realtemp360 to check what temps i have.

Testing with prime95:
check1: blend
check2: IN-place large FFts
check3: small FFTs
maybe there are some people that have more experiance with this prog, give me some advice then PLZ

at stock speed gotten max temp of 71°C

FSB 280.8: all OK max heat CPU was 73° with check3 on prime95; no prob with my RAM on all checks.

WTF now tried at 290FSB, windows started up, then gotten a blue screen with IRQ not less or equal???
this is mostely a driver prob, what has that to do with OC'ing.
this RAM is prob the issue

damn its only a OC of 200MHz :commando:

seems like am getting it higher now, what was it...just know it arent issues with heat, had like different errors in windows, will see if its stable enough, am at 300FSB gets me at 2.7GHz then

testing with prime95 gotten my CPU at 79°, thats with the stock-Fan, suppose i could get a better one if i get this temps too much, because it cooles down very fast to a nice 60 again

lol stealth

Ask me to to load balance and tune a network of 2000 machines, I'm your man but tbh I haven't got much of a bloody clue when it comes to overclocking.

You might find that if you are getting IRQ not less or equal type errors, you have probably overdone your PCI bus speed, other than that, not a lot springs to mind. If you can post details of any drivers or dll's that are mentioned when you get the BSODs that might help narrow it down a bit.

:geek:

i dont know much about overclocking intel cpu's but most amd cpu's can be easily o'ced.
the issue could be with your mobo, asus mobo's are are easy to o'c.
i would probably go for a quad core rather than the e6600, it was a decent cpu but lacks nowdays.

black ops is Quad core only or triple core, and yer still lucky if ya get NO probs, with it being buggy as hell its a ASS lol.
you could prob run crysis smoother than black ops. maybe your system will run black ops jeanke when there are a few more updates, just wait for a few weeks and see what happens is the best bet if ya aint got the money to upgrade just yet :)
