pmsl , when i first started reading i thought WTF, i am totally disgusted with the mosque being planned to be built so close to ground zero, it's just sickening, to think they'd could have the barefaced cheek to do such a thing !
What next ? a Natzi shrine in colditz ?

yer, but it wast christian extremists who blew up the towers, it was isla ic extremists, in the name of allah, the guy that muslims worship. As muslims follow islam, just a bit of a sensitive subject around nyc. Might be a good idea to go worship allah away from the families of those thousands who were affected

You do realise muslims died in the WTC aswell. You even said it, it was extremists who did it, people take this too far but I guess its not very surprising, the whole world seems to be anti-muslim because of a small minority of misguided extremists.

Neither is the bible. One of the ten commandments is "you shall have no other god before me" (or something

).

Edit: The thing is, unfortunately most of the people opposing the plan are basing it on bigotry, not rational thought, which is what saddens me the most.

personally, i dont think a mosque should be built on or near the site, not because im anti muslim but on the grounds of common decency.
there are a load of other issuses regarding fanatical muslims, where does the norm stop and the fanatic begin. human rights abuses such as the rife degradation of women, the hanging of homosexuals,(saudi arabia still crucify some of what they call criminals) and people who dont agree with the hate they preach is standard in the muslim world.
besides, under the 1st amendment, no government office can openly deny them the right to build a mosque.
