, theres White scar Caves about 5 minute drive from there , ya gotta pay to go in therebut i hear its good, or you can hire a helmet with a light on it for £3 and i know where there is a SAFE cave walk for a family to go in, probly 10 years + age rateing, coz it gets a little cold lol, but its a good cave, 1 passage about 1 mile long, and ya walk in water all the way, from start to finish, the end is a tight squeeze not been through it , but a friend grandad has, hes 50 ish when he did it :)

i'd glady show you any of the two :) or you want info ?

http://www.whitescarcave.co.uk/ <------------- this ISN't the Ingleton £3 for a helmet walk, its about £15 each lol, and probly aint as much fun as the one we went in with just a friend and a helmet lol :D

also , up our way (lancashire) is a wild boar park, not been but wild boar stew tastes nice lol :D

hope that helps :)

if you want to visit the best place in the UK for scenery, archaeology, wildlife, sealife and outstanding unspoiled natural beauty, go to Shetland!
only prob is you need to drive to aberdeen, catch an overnight ferry (6pm till 8 am - 14 hours but has a bar that will only close when the last 1 goes to bed, 2 really good restaurants and a cinema)
has loads of reasonable guest houses etc
i lived there for 7 1/2 years and loved it

ferry, accomodation etc here http://www.northlinkferries.co.uk/shetland.html

depends what kind of holiday (visit) you want, do you want a hike, simple walk, paths, hills, depends how long you have for holiday, if you have a few weeks, simple, hire a motorhome, stop where, when you like. have a cuppa tea, bacon an eggs, saussages. wherever you are. or just book into a bb.
