Hi peeps!

Not going to be gaming for a while, my isp fusked up last tuesday and since then my download speed has been erratic and basically shite,......... downloading between 2kb/sec and 50kb/sec,............... instead of the usual 300,.... even though im connected at 2.6mb/sec

Thus till that is sorted my ability to game is gonna be non-existant!

that sux. i remember in 1996 i had united artists as my isp. those days you could just go down to the UA shop and shout at them untill they fixed it,
hope you get it fixed soon, we get the L4D2 demo in 3 days

played l4d, seems my ping is ok so im still able to play, even though the downloads could stop me from playing on some servers!

problem will be downloading the game with steam virgin are a pain in the ass, used them for years and had probs with them. they are quick to blame the prob on the customer. ie, spyware/virus/too many programs using the connection. use the tracert in command to see where the problem is and ill bet its one of the first 2/3 hops. then you can tell them excatly where the problem is. you will find its usually virgin oversubscribing their channels so ask them to switch you to a less used channel. if you have a motorolla surfboard modem, you can do this yourself in the admin but they get pissed off when you do

My problem just seem to be with actual downloads,.......... webpages seem to load ok

hmm, you used up your d/l quota?

i had the same issuse a couple of weeks ago seems bt had been fucking withe lines and i had to change the adsl filter again but i gather you are hard wired no filters to change.....

Have tried different filters but no improvement!
This is definately a problem at their end!
