"religion is the cause of all wars"
personally, i dont think a mosque should be built on or near the site, not because im anti muslim but on the grounds of common decency.
there are a load of other issuses regarding fanatical muslims, where does the norm stop and the fanatic begin. human rights abuses such as the rife degradation of women, the hanging of homosexuals,(saudi arabia still crucify some of what they call criminals) and people who dont agree with the hate they preach is standard in the muslim world.
besides, under the 1st amendment, no government office can openly deny them the right to build a mosque.
{l Quote}:
The first amendment addresses Congress, and basically states that Congress cannot make a law that affects the establishment of religion, restricts a person's right or the press's right to free speech, or restricts the right of people to gather together in a peaceful manner.
a bit of a "shot in the foot" that one
