I need advice with a pc issue...

PC uses onboard sound, and have sterio speakers plugged in. All was working great till about two days ago. Now the is a constant crackle whenever sound is played, making it almost impossible to hear anything else.

I have tried the speakers on her netbook and they work perfectly there, as does headset......but if i put them back in main PC the crackle is back on both the rear and front plugs, also get crackle on headphones when on PC but all fine on netbook

I have all the latest drivers installed (have removed all and reinstall with newest as well) but still have this damn noise

dnt know what caused it coz it was working fine when I shut PC down that night but the crackle was there on start up the next morning......

Any ideas

Motherboard is a FUJITSU SIEMENS D1826-G and uses Realtek Audio

I have CSS installed to but cant hear anything on sound except a crackle so

Sounds like the amplifier chip on the system board might be screwed, or you could have cack in one of the jack plugs that is causing an intermittent short circuit. Try air duster in the sockets (or a good hard blow). Other than that, go get a sound blaster ftw.

yup agree with poundsey. Just buy a cheap pcie 5.1 or 7.1 sound card for 25 quid. And no more probs for 3 years or so lol

im with poundsey on this 1 .... think we all need a good ahrd blow from time to time ;P
