yeah i have had a look was thinking of upgrading to same as carolanns pc.. hers is 1080p...(who cares if ya loose looks grt) looks gorgeous playing games tbh..

this is the one id go for... but i looked at it.. the cost to have a decent size hdd isnt worth it. unless ur got plenty cash..

i kno ikno i hear ya just put the os on it.. whats the point in that?. you really need to put your games and software on there for the experiance and the plus side of using SSD.

if ya just got yer OS on it, does it make games run any better ? just 20% faster games ? as opposed to REALLY fast if yer games were on yer SSD ?

i think my current HDD is a sata 1
so mate told me that my mo-bo wont take sata 2 or sata3 HDD, but will accept a sata 1 SSD, so its really the only upgrade available to me as far as HDD's go

Sata 3 drives will work on a sata 1 or 2 controller so you can buy one if you like, they all work with each other. e.g. a SATA 1 drive will work on a SATA 1, 2 and 3 controller, a SATA 2 drive will work on 1,2 and 3 etc. The only problem with SSDs is that they use NAND memory that wears out after a certain amount of re-writes (a couple of million I think). A decent SSD should spread the data across itself to maximize lifetime but if you want your SSD to last a long time, move your page file onto a normal hdd (with enough ram you shouldn't use the page file too much anyway) and DO NOT de-fragment it. The way that memory access works means that there is no benefit from de-fragmenting an SSD and you just reduce the lifetime.
