Arrgh,

My system is being annoying. For some reason it will only output a signal to my monitor when i start windows in safe mode. Other than that, it will show the vista loading bar, say welcome, and then my monitor will go black with the message "Cable not connected" jumping about.

It may be as well to mention that my computer was abruptly turned off at the plug, while running a virus scan. ( Parents make me rage :panic: ). It was working perfectly prior to this.

Since the problem arose i have done this:

Checked all cables and connections,
Ran a cmd line virus scan while in safe mode,
Updated my graphics card driver. This did work for a short while, untill i flicked back onto my Xbox (I have a little adapter thing to switch between the two. I know this isnt the problem), and then when i go back onto the PC one, it says cable not connected, even though my computer is on and running fully.

Can someone please please help me on what to do next. I am so stuck.

PS. Removed all the system restores and shadow copies as i was cleaning up my computer the other day -.-

Please help

Cheers

Wolf
