my guess it is a heat issue, clean the fan, check and replace the thermal paste, if that dont work then try ebay for a new one

it aint the fan making the noise, and i already re-thermal pasted it :/ and when the noise (guessing thats electric wizzing through wires or whatever) stops so does the rendering of pretty stuff on my screen, so if what i am hearing is my CPU working, when it stops working it freezes the frames on my screen ?
i.e. cleaning my fan and re-thermal pasting it ain't gunna make it quiet nor will it give me smooth running ? i looked for changing bus speeds etc, i am trying to mess with my voltages, lowering em , upping em. Maybe i fried it when i first started to OC it ?

driver updates ? Or ya mean plugging new bits in it ? I over clocked it a bit. But as far as am aware that high pitch noise was there before.

HARDWARE! new bits innit.. SOFTWARE=driver updates! ...

Did u get a new gfx or any other new things? i google some last night and found that one guy had the same problem, and when all came down to it, showed that it has the psu's fault cos the new gfx card used more power than the old one, and that resulted in some power fault and making squeeling noises...

Capacitors can make a loud squeeling noise before they break down - can take ages. Also could be a coil. I'd bet PSU or mobo to be honest, rather than CPU itself. What I've done before with mother boards is tap each capacitor and coil GENTLY with the blunt end of a biro and often you find the component that's at fault. Post up you motherboard details.
