This was mentioned by SK on the clown topic but didn't want to get that one even more offtrack there with whatever replies this gets.
So in middle of some pity quarrel we should stop to think about some dead UK soldier and his family that will have to be without him at christmas? I think that whoever joins the military should be aware of the risks involved (such as premature death) since he/she is getting payed for it. I've understood that joining military in UK is optional so every soldier has personally taken that decision so why should it always be such a shock when a soldier dies in a war? Tragedy sure but a voluntary one.

It was about context Lego,............
I realise joining the army is voluntary for the individual, but not for his family, they lost a son/daughter/father or whatever, and they didn't make that choice!
I used that example as a way of saying, a few petty names being called is hardly that important in the scheme of things, ie as you said, a petty squabble!
But yes matey, totally agree with you regarding the "they should be aware of the risks" comment, it's a war, some people are not going to come back,..................

Well that's again another topic which I knowingly left out of this. I don't know for sure but after fast peek about UK in Afghanistan I got the idea that they were pretty much drawn there by NATO.
Of course it takes some time for peace keeping operations but there doesn't seem to be anything happening about pulling out.

its simple why the uk and us are still staying in afghanistan, they are 'protecting" the population over there, and they get money and oil from afghanistan, same in iraq, and they want to do it in iran 2.
for the us its like a game, give guns to terrorists, chaos in the country, then they come save them, and stay there for like 20 jears, and getting money and oil from them, all bastards, there aint any peace @ this fucked up world, and it will never be
