P.S. Security is 'better' than Windows 7 too. They have tweaked the kernel of the OS to be better protected. Still not perfect but NO operating system is. All have weaknesses and malware.

OpenBSD would like to have a word with you. :p

OpenBSD has also suffered from security problems. They bang on about the default installation having had only two remote vulnerabilities but the default installation isn't exactly a mainstream OS usable by the general public is it?

Again, nothing is perfect!

And Sammy... :p I only sold my soul to M$ because the alternatives are overpriced eye candy from Crapple or functionally limited Linux distros that miss some of the features that I want and need.

I was going to pick apart your long answer a bit, but I realised that there are definitely some things I agree with, but I think the old adage of "You get used to it" is a bad argument. I got used to the brain hemorrhage-inducing UAC in Vista, doesn't mean its any good. Likewise with this, I've been playing around with Windows 8, I don't particularly like Aero, but it's much better than the crap Windows 8 serves up even if you do happen to get used to it. I haven't upgraded myself yet anyway, I'm going to wait until SP1 to see if its worth it then.

Not everything Microsoft does is good (far from it). I've run Windows, OS X and stuff using the Linux kernel, and I'm not gonna recommend anyone really because they're all shit in their own way :)

I'm not going to stop using Windows, but I'll be sticking to 7. Can Google please try making a proper OS? :P
