I'm a currently training to be a personal trainer and hopefully in the long run, own my own gym, and to be a conditioning coach for a rugby time(dream) part of the job is being able to motivate people to train, get fit, or just staying healthy.
This is where you come in, i could do with peoples input on what motivates them to go gym, or some kinda activity to stay fit/healthy or what peoples lack of motivation is, and what would make it better for them to take up gym, or activitys: somethings i no that stop people from doing it e.g price, enjoyment, time etc etc...
i understand for alot of people its not having the time with work or familys, but any input no matter how big or small, is a great help to me.
About me: i thought i'd share a little about how i got into this and my motivations. I got into this when i firsted started going gym, my uncle is an ex bodybuilder and owns one of the top gyms in leciestershire, i am working there part time aswell as doing my course, i have seen many people go in and out of the gym, and each one has a different motivation to get up in the morning and drag there tried ass to gym, its not my fav thing to do, but it has to be done, and thats when i first started to take an intrest in this.
my motivation: As well as just wanting to be the best at what i do, the biggest the strongest to beat my records everytime i do something, my main motivation came when i got into the leciester tigers camp, i have always been a massive fan of rugby, and have enjoyed it since an early age, my dad was a semi pro, and so was my grandad, i had the best chance of getting in when i went for my England trails for the year above myself, i had my training sesh was in the camp for a week, i gave it my best, but at the end of the day, i didn't get in, the man came up to me and told me i had the skills, had the brain, but i lacked in size, they said i wasn't big enough and since that day i have traied everyday, gym most days, just to prove my point to that man that he made a mistake. There you no how i got started and my aims, and my motivation, but it'll be good to hear from you lot,
Many thanks, phil

strava {l Wrote}: if i don't sport i'd get fat!!!! that was the same for me.. but i just eat little less, and i kept it at a stall... But when i changed job(from tool's seller, to a lorry driver, loads of walking, heavy lifting and heavy dragging with the pallet truck) i changed my body mass from chubby to "fit", took away the fat and got muscles My motivation, need the money... lool.. But if i was to go to a gym, my motivation had to be, to get more muscles and even less fat, and to get more stamina, and most important, to keep my health. and now, as i have lost some fat, i can go to the gym willingly, but i would never have gone to the gym in the shape i was...

<- This pretty much. I never really went to the gym, but I played football for 10 years and tennis for 5, and ran 6-7 km twice a week. Then I turned 18 and moved out, been a lazy slob ever since. I find gyms to be too boring and sterile, and I was never into bodybuilding or lifting weights anyway.
